You are probably asking how can Search Engine Marketing have anything to do with buying a Home Theatre setup...

For those who have gone over to a friend's place to see their brand new Home Theatre setup, have you ever experienced great visuals on one of those plasma or LCD TV"s to be dissappointed or let down by the quality of the sound.  When buying a home theatre people need to consider both, as each are important as the other.  The general rule being you spend roughly the same amount on the sound as you do on the visuals, to get the best overall effect.

This goes the same for websites and Search Engine Marketing (SEM).  Organisations will often want the best looking website containing all the bells and whistles they can get for their budget often giving less attention to the budget for search engine marketing, and then wonder why their website performs badly in the search engines.

Organisations need to realise, that even though there are simple inexpensive things that they themselves can do to help their rankings, there are also a number of things that search engine specialists do to imrpove search result. These things require time and research, which have a cost, but also provide a measureable return.

Next time you decide to redevelop your website, also take into consideration your search engine objectives, and allocate budget to it, otherwise your website could be that great looking plasma TV with the awful sound system
