If you haven't heard CommSec copped a $55,000 fine for breaching the Spam Act. There have been reports of much larger penalities thrown at shonky operators lately however this is the first time this year a business we all know has been fined.
In the simplest terms under the Spam Act every person has the right to unsubscribe from receiving commercial electronic messages and to have that request acted on effectively and quickly.
